The Essential Solopreneur Tech Stack

As a solopreneur, having the right tools is essential to my happiness (and productivity!). And over the last 2 months, I’ve been particularly grateful for these.
Calendly + Mailchimp
What would I do without Calendly? At $15 a month for the pro version, it’s saving me tons of time each week. Here are three ways to streamline your workflow with this powerful little tool.
Collect payments for individual sessions.
I love Squarespace! But one thing it doesn’t do is make it easy to charge for one-time events. Now, I use the e-commerce feature in Calendly. It uses Stripe. My clients pay immediately after finding the day and time that works best for them on my calendar.
Webinars and group events finally made easy.
Setting up tech for a webinar used to be overwhelming. It required a landing page on my site, then a second landing page on Zoom, and email reminders from Mailchimp. Now, I simply create a group event in Calendly. I can add multiple dates and times - and even limit the number of attendees. I send a welcome message using the hack above. Participants can even opt-in for text reminders. You can see this beautiful hack at work when you sign up for one of my online classes.
Gusto and Bench
Thanks to this amazing combo, I aced the Paycheck Protection Program application. They provided the exact forms and specific details required. This morning I woke up to the money in my account. If accounting is not in your list of top 5 ways to spend a Saturday, consider this powerhouse combo!
If you’re ready to stop pretending you’ll make time for bookkeeping, check out Bench. Sign up using this link and you’ll save 20% on your first six months.
Finally time to pay yourself a real paycheck and quit wondering what your tax bill will look like? Gusto a try, you’ll earn $100 with this link.
Canva
In 2017, my brilliant friend + illustrator Maria Fabrizio, helped me design a brand I love. Using Canva, I create graphics with my own colors and fonts. I had a blast creating a new guide last week called the Learning-Based Business Plan. Want to check it out?
Loom
Though I’m hugely under qualified, I’ve become somewhat of a help desk for my team at Downtown Church. When they have tech questions, I just hop on Loom and make a quick video. This way, I can show them exactly how to get unstuck. In fact, I made you a video about setting up the Calendly + Mailchimp hack I mentioned above.
